Baby congratulations card!

Here is my first card I'm posting!! I have others made but haven't sent them yet. I made this one for my stepsister, who just had a baby boy last week. I had this set of stickers from scrapbooking a page on the San Diego Zoo and thought they would be perfect for a little boy. So many bright colors!

My biggest challenge was figuring out how to get things written on the inside, but I think I developed a good system — I cut a piece of white paper a little smaller than the outside of the card, wrote on it, then glued the right side completely onto the card. To keep the left side from just flopping closed onto it, I put glue just on the corners and stuck them to the card — that way, it's not pulling and causing tension when it opens and closes :)

My next cards will be sent off in February, but check back for some other fun little projects before then!

Bookmark fun

To get things rolling, here are a couple of bookmarks I made with some extra scraps and stickers I had. I really like the final look! I think the only thing I would do differently would be to use flatter stickers.

These embellishments are my absolute favorites. They just look so classy!

I love the colors on these ones — the teal and blue mixed so well!

Lovely flower detail :)

Well, that's a start. Tomorrow, I'll be sending my first card off — to my stepsister for her new baby. I'll put up pictures soon!

Off to a start

So I have decided to make a second blog. As a New Year's resolution of sorts, I plan on making people cards throughout the year. I've always wanted to send people more cards — usually I only buy cards to go with presents, like for birthdays, weddings, graduations and Mother's Day — and when I do buy cards, I'm always thinking, "You know, I could make something like this!" I was also very inspired while shopping with my mom at the Papyrus store at the Prudential Center in Boston. They make the most beautiful cards! People love getting things in the mail, and I love making people happy! So here is my attempt to do that throughout the year. I started out in a three-month interval, getting paper and supplies to last me through March. I will post my projects as I send them, so the people they are for don't stumble upon pictures of them here! Wish me luck, and I will keep you updated :)
